The beginning of a lot of rants and rambles

I've always wanted to write a blog, considering my major was with writing I figure now is the time. I am going to Carpe that Diem! But, since I haven't written a blog before, besides one super weird one for a poetry class, this has posed itself as a stress and a challenge. What will people think? Why will they care? and Is this really that important? Those things have all crossed my mind as I began this writing adventure. However, I realized that since I spent four years obsessing over writing, it really shouldn't be that hard to get some thoughts on the page here. Even though the blinking cursor seemed like it was taunting me for a bit there, I got the best of it, and I think I even increased my WPM typing trying to beat the blink. But, the overall purpose of this blog is just to write because I love to write. So as you read this, I hope you take things I say lightly and go into this with an open mind, as sometimes my writing may come out opinionated and sometimes even laced with a bit of vulgarity. The subject matter may vary from creative pieces, to just little summaries of how my day has been. Writing is my release and my happy place.
